I can build most basic websites in less than one week for under $500.00.  This includes your home page and several additional pages that link from there.  A basic website can include anything from an online blog/discussion board, picture gallery or an online chat room or another live presence.  

     Because the software I use to build websites is open source and comes at no additional cost to me; I am able to pass that savings off to you, allowing you to have a fully functional and interactive website for a very competitive price. 
     By software; I am referring to any web application that would compliment your static web pages that we create together.   An example of software i use in my current websites can be found at tinyportal.net / simplemachines.org.  Other features are also available; such as live streaming video and audio players.  However, because of the proprietary nature of some software's involved, there may be a small fee that I must charge in order to comply with any license that would need to be purchased.  An example of one software suite I use is the JW player by LongTail Video.                 

     Another great feature that you get is the ability to manage your website, after the initial creation, with little or no knowledge of PHP, HTML or Java languages.  This is extremely helpful for novice web designers that need to make constant updates to their web presence or who just want to learn and expand their website during their own time and at no additional cost that would normally be billed to you by a designer.  I am a re-seller for one of the largest web hosting companies operating in today's market; Ipowerweb.  The services and features that Ipower offers exceeds anything being offered by other companies such as GoDaddy.   Services such as a stable GUI that allows you to manage all your web content from one place is just one of the benefits Ipower offers.  This includes editors that operate using technologies such as WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), that make building webpages similar to creating a facny document in a program like MS Word.

     All of the software I use to develop your site is explained in detail before you take control, ensuring you know how to use the software correctly and can update the software when new releases are made public.
     If you request it, I would be happy to sit down with you after the initial site creation and publishing to show you how I built the site and also how to make changes to the basic page content.  I believe this provides you with  valuable "know-how"; as most designers only build you a website, then turn it over to you and -*poof*- they vanish and you're on your own; even if you have no web design knowledge.  Anything additional costs you money! 
   
     Conversely; when you work with me; I want to ensure that you can manage your site accordingly, including making changes or updating the content on your site without having to pay me anything extra (or anyone else for that matter).  So, be sure to ask me to show you how to make basic changes before we finalize our project together.  I truly care about your site and want to see you be as successful as possible.

My Rates and what you can expect during the design process:

I charge $20.00 per hour of design time; regardless of what you want done.  Here is the process I take with any new client:

10 Easy steps to the creation of your website.
Step 1:   We sit down together and go over your ideas and what you would like your website to accomplish.
Step 2:   Depending on the content and design you have in mind; we will discuss the available software requirements to make it happen.
Step 3:   I provide you with a quote for how many hours it should take me to complete your website.
Step 4:   You decide if the price is right.  If it is, we move forward (a 10% deposit is required to protect my work). 
Step 5:   I build your website and provide you with a link after it is completed where you can view the website privately online.
Step 6:   You take some time, review your website and afterwards, provide me with a list of final changes that need to be made.
Step 7:   I complete your requested changes and allow you to confirm they were made correctly and as you intended.
Step 8:   Payment is made (you must also purchase your hosting account at this time $100.00/year if you go through Ipower.).
Step 9:   I publish your site; providing you with all the information you need to manage the site going forward.
Step 10: You Enjoy your new website!!!

     I know of no other web designer that is completely up front in their design time estimates and the cost of your website.  Usually, you build a website and are in the dark until your website is completed, whenever that may be.  Or what you are actually sold is a "Canned Template" website.  I do not like templates because a template means that someone else out there probably has the same site design as you do.  I deal with Custom built websites, built as you want them and need them.  The only exception I make on this is for Online Gaming Teams who usually want a template for conformity.  However, to facilitate faster design time, I may ask that you have a few existing websites in mind so I can get the gist of how you would like your site to look.  We won't create a copy of that website(s), but knowing what you want in the beginning only saves me time in designing it and saving me time, saves you money.

     With my pricing system, you will never be surprised by a bill you did not expect.  Working with me, there are no surprises.  If I quote you 20 hours of design time; that is what you will be billed.  Even if it takes me longer!!  I will never bill you for something I did not tell you about up front, regardless of what you want done or the initial changes you make afterwards.

      I can build basic animated Adobe Flash content for your website. Because of the time it takes to build Adobe Flash Animations; there is an additional charge per hour.  If you are interested in Flash Animation, please let me know when you contact me.

     Upon the completion of your website, I will create a digital Back-up for you on Compact Disk (or your Flash drive) for free.  Even though your website is Backed-Up online with Ipower(should you choose to go through them) via Carbonite; it is still nice to have a hard copy of your site on hand should something go wrong.

     Interactive forums and discussion boards/blogs are a great way to allow your visitors to create a home for themselves on your website, ensuring that they will be back again.  However, online forums can be used for so much more.  The forum software we use is Simple Machines.  We also utilize a third party modification to the Simple machines Base software called Tiny Portal, to give your forums all the functionality of an entire website.  Creating an online forum within your website will give your visitors hours of interactive fun.  Some of the options we can add to your online forums include, picture gallery, game arcade, personal profile pages for your members, interactive calendar, music and much, much more.

     One of the services I offer is building your site so that is it able to be searchable and can make you money.  While this is a purely optional feature, it is something you should think about when creating your website.  The affiliate provider I use is Commission Junction (www.cj.com).  With CJ you can sign up for affiliation with almost any business on the web.  Find out what your visitors interests are, then create banners for your site linking your visitors to those companies who provide products your visitors want.  Each time one of your visitors clicks one of your banners and makes a purchase, you receive a % of that purchase.  Most providers give you an incredible 4% - 12% return on purchases made through the use of your banners, creating a very powerful tool for you to make money from simply by having a website.  You do nothing.  One of the sites I manage receives an average of $50.00 per month for doing absolutely nothing but offering banners.  No messy reports to manage and banners to keep track of.  Simply let us know you are interested in this feature and we will walk your through the set up of your account.  The rest is just providing me the code to place on your website (I'll show you how!!)
